from the Bolero which is native to Cuba.
In the 1990s, bachata's instrumentation changed from
acoustic Spanish guitar to electric steel string.
The new electric bachata soon became an international
phenomenon and today bachata is a popular as Salsa
and Merengue in Latin American and world wide.

Zouk
Today, one of the most beautiful & popular of
the Latin Dance styles hitting dance floors across
the world!!
The word Zouk means 'party' in the Creole language!
Zouk draws its power from the rich musical heritage
of Africa (Cabo Verde, Angola etc.) and the islands
of the French Antilles (Guadeloupe, Martinique etc.).
In France and Africa Lambada was developed into Zouk,
with a similar rhythm, but sung in French.
It became very popular in Brazil with the Zouk rhythm
being used to dance a Brazilian style derived from
the Lambada. Differing though from traditional Lambada
which is usually very fast and frantic, Zouk Lambada
is an elegant & graceful partner dance, characterised
by slow steps, turns and body waves. If you dance
Salsa, Bachata, Merengue or any other partner dance
then you simply must learn ZOUK!!
